Windale

In November 2001 approval was given to use Community Solutions Funds to extend the Windale Place Management Project by providing total funds of $159,500, disbursed in financial year 2002/03.

The Place project strategic plan identifies the following key result areas over the next two years (2002-04):

• Business Development, Employment and Training;
• Parenting and Family Responsibility;
• Communication;
• Value of Education;
• Activities and Programs for Young People and Children;
• Physical Improvements, Image, Perception, & Community Pride;
• Community and Domestic Violence;
• Alcohol and Drugs;
• Personal, Community and Property Safety.

The initiatives that will support crime prevention and community development in Windale are:

• $15,000 to fund the Windale Community Leadership Development and Training Project which provides training and support to Windale residents, front line workers and other potential community leaders to implement the above strategy.
• $20,000 to objectively measure the results of the Windale Community Renewal Scheme.
• $124,500 to employ a Place Project Manager to monitor, review, support and integrate service delivery in Windale.
