- Mt Druitt
$14,000,000 has been approved to the Mt Druitt community for a range of crime prevention and community development strategies over three years from 2002 - 2006.
- Small Non-Government Organisations Working Together Project
Part of the Mt Druitt Community Solutions and Crime Prevention initiative this project was designed to explore the strengths, issues and challenges facing smaller non-government organisations in the Mt Druitt/Blacktown area and to identify a range of strategies that would support them in developing and enhancing their potential.
- Women’s Activities & Self-Help House
Conducted by the Women’s Activities & Self-Help (WASH) House in Mt Druitt, this project targets sole female parents with children aged 13 years and over.

- Mt Druitt Family Violence Response and Support Strategy
One of the larger and most challenging initiatives under the banner of Mt Druitt Community Solutions is the Mt Druitt Comprehensive Family Violence Response & Support Strategy, which is a joint initiative between DoCS, Mt Druitt Police and Western Sydney Area Health.
Case Studies
- Chifley Centre, Bidwill Campus
Funding through the NSW Government's Community Solutions and Crime Prevention Program has enabled the multi-campuses of Chifley College in Sydney's western suburbs to implement three educational initiatives focussing on supporting students (and their families) at risk from a number of factors.
- Sustained Home Visiting Team
Sustained Home Visiting is a program that employs specialist child and family health nurses to work intensively with high needs families with children 0-2 years in the first 2 years of a child’s life. Through the provision of this service the project aims to improve developmental outcomes for children and reduce the rates of child abuse.
- Youth Outreach Program, Chifley College
