The Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC) is located in Mudgee, NSW. AREC is a not-for-profit member based community organisation which strives to provide a forum for the advancement of rural knowledge. AREC is the host of the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days - a 2 day agricultural/educational field day held in July every year.

AREC's philosophy is to provide a forum, infrastructure and technical support for education and the exchange of ideas relevant to the development of Australia's rural and associated industries.
