Rural Women's NetworkThe Rural Women's Network is a program within the NSW Department of Primary Industries which represents, supports and advocates for rural women.
The Rural Women's Network (RWN) aims to:
The Network evolved from a Rural Women's Conference in Parkes in 1991 when rural women expressed a need for more opportunities to share ideas, access information and have a voice in decision making. Rural women have identified a range of priority issues which include isolation, health, education, lack of services, family and broader community issues. The RWN works with other agencies and groups to stimulate action to address these issues. RWN also works with rural women themselves - enhancing their skills, knowledge and confidence and their access to information and support, so they too can stimulate action and address these issues.
