Skills Register

Tapping into community skills and knowledge

Within any community there lies an untapped pool of skills and knowledge. A simple skills register has been used in many communities to identify the latent skills, interests and backgrounds of residents and their willingness to share it. Such information needs systematic recording (preferably a computer system) and can be used to fulfil community needs or to instigate new initiatives. An example of one town's Skills Register is illustrated.

Skills Register

Each community is so rich and diverse in terms of the skills, interests and backgrounds of its residents. As the first step to identifying what skills and talents exist this form has been prepared. Your cooperation in filling it out and leaving at the general stores or post office would be greatly appreciated.

Please note - filling in this form is optional, and the information will not be shared with other people without your permission.
