NGO-in-a-Box

NGO-in-a-Box is a collection of peer-reviewed computer software tailored to the needs of Non-Government Organisations.

Poland's Tactical Technology Collective has been developing 'NGO-in-a-Box', a suite of computer applications consisting of selected tools and materials tailored to the needs of NGOs.

Each edition of NGO-in-a-Box has been developed by experienced practitioners, with the aim of providing organisations not only with the software they need in relation to a given topic, but also with the relevant implementation scenarios and materials to support this.

Packages include:

• Security Edition: Security and Protection Tools for people working in the areas of human rights, anti-corruption, women's issues, independent media and journalists (released).
• Base Box: A peer-reviewed range of tools and materials selected specifically to provide small to medium sized organisations with the full range of F/OSS tools they may need to set up an NGO office (in development stage).
• Advocacy Edition: Include basic member databases, organising tools and more specialised techniques that can be used in advocacy work such as video and audio (in development stage).
• Open Publishing Edition: Relevant tools for independent media and publishers (in planning stage).

Please Note: NGO-in-a-Box has been designed to operate under the Linux 'open source' operating system.

Packages are not designed for computer systems that operate under Microsoft Windows.
