The National Institute for Governance focuses on the interface between the public, private and community sectors: effective relationships between these sectors are at the heart of efforts to achieve better standards of governance.

The Institute is developing a network of appropriate partnerships with Australian and international actors interested in key issues of contemporary governance, drawing upon both the University of Canberra's extensive expertise and that of its partners.

The primary activities of the Institute include the hosting of public and closed forums, the identification of significant research issues and the dissemination of information to members.
