How to put multilingual information on the web - some resources

Unicode
The home page for the Unicode standard, a single character set that includes all the characters used by the world's major languages. Both Windows 95 and Windows NT support Unicode and these operating systems supply the fonts required as well. Netscape and Internet Explorer are Unicode compliant, and it is also endorsed by WC3 as the standard for digital transfer via the Internet.
