E-Volve Foundation

The mission of The E-Volve Foundation is to identify, support and promote open source technology efforts that provide opportunities for people to participate in democratic processes and to build a community of donors and doers that is dedicated to bridging the gap between technology and activism.

The E-Volve Foundation represents a unique presence in the grantmaking and technology communities; a focal point for resources and know-how to encourage citizen action through the use of next generation technologies.

The E-Volve Foundation is powered by a broad network of people with a common passion for democratizing the Internet space to promote equal and fair access to tools, information, and resources.

We are capitalizing on the remarkable and dizzying improvements in technology by finding great ideas for communities who have previously not engaged online, and to enable people to participate in discussions about issues, to organize, communicate with one another, join together with a common voice, and work towards a cleaner, healthier, more just world.

Our goal is to fund a variety of new efforts, serve as a facilitator and connector between people who are doing great things and people who are interested in supporting those efforts, and promote great examples of local power being built and used to solve social problems.

Online Citizen Engagement Report: Power to the Edges

Philanthropy for Active Citizen Engagement (PACE) and E-Volve release the first edition of a state-of-the-field report on online citizen engagement called "Power to the Edges."

This first edition is a snapshot of the current state of online democracy in the age of connectivity brought about by the Internet and other digital information technologies.

"Pushing Power to the Edges" provides an overview of the state of online democracy; what it is, where it is headed, and what it means for activists and those who support them.
