Commission for Children & Young People

Community issues affect the lives, happiness, safety and welfare of children and young people. Crime, drug and alcohol issues, and environmental issues are a few examples.

The Commission for Children and Young People has three main priorities that guide the work it does. Its goal is to:

  • increase the participation of children and young people in making decisions that affect their lives,
  • promote the safety and welfare of children and young people, and
  • strengthen the important relationships in the lives of children and young people and improve their well-being
