Survey Design

A guide to the basics of survey design.

Survey Design looks at the steps involved in undertaking a survey including answering the questions:

  1. What do you want to learn? (articulating the goals of the research project)
  2. Who will you ask? (Determining your sample size and composition)
  3. How will you ask? (Choosing an interviewing methodology)
  4. What will you ask? (Creating a questionnaire) and
  5. Test the questions. (Pre-testing the survey).

Note this page is part of a company's web site that markets software for individuals and organisations undertaking survey work. This section on research methodology is for public access and use.
