Community Development Toolbox

An online support tool for communities to survey needs and plan community development

These tools from the Laboatory for Community and Economic Development, University of Illinois, are designed for rural outreach programs and there is no fee associated with their use.

Local leaders can go online and learn about needs assessment, then design their own survey to administer to their community and learn about sampling, etc.

The toolbox then leads them to strategic planning where they can identify stakeholders, define a mission statement, do a SWOT analysis and identify goals and objectives.

Users log in, and each time they return under the same login name, they can retrieve the information they put in earlier.
