Charities can apply for entry to a tax deductible gift register – the Register of Harm Prevention Charitable Institutions – to assist them in obtaining financial support from the community for their activities. Entry on the Register assists charities to attract public support by making donations and gifts to those charities tax deductible. Follow this link to the ATO website for more information about the new legislation (opens in a new browser window) Email: harmpreventioncharitiesregister@facs.gov.au For information on the Register of Harm Prevention Charitable Institutions, entry requirements and how to apply you can visit the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services (FaCSIA) or contact The Register of Harm Prevention Charitable Institutions, Service Delivery and Assurance Branch, Department of Family and Community Services.
