Free Downloadable Resources for Community Projects

Chris Chappell, an independent contractor from North Queensland, has made available on his website resources relevant to place based development for Indigenous communities, integrated case management, risk management, strategic planning and natural resource management planning.

On his website, Chris Chappell says that he established his contracting service in 2001 to  apply his management consulting and organisational development capability to issues that mattered, with clients who shared some commonality with his values. 

His obejectives include:

  • contributing to the long-term benefit of the community, particularly for those who are disadvantaged.
  • A commitment to sustainable systems change through policy, organisational and program reform, local change through community and organisational capacity-building and individual change through working with people’s strengths.

A Place-based Development Model for Indigenous Communities
Submission to the Senate Select Committee on Regional and Remote Indigenous Communities - drawing from the report “Pre-Evaluation Study into Government Coordination & its Development in Three Indigenous Communities” (Palm Island, Doomadgee and Mornington Island) conducted in late 2007 for the Queensland Government Coordinator, Indigenous Service Delivery.

Integrated Case Management Protocol Template
Based on the Townsville / Thuringowa Protocol on  Integrated Case Management for People with Complex Needs developed in early 2006 to assist local service providers to integrated services to people occupying public spaces (parkies, rough sleepers) who have complex needs (e.g. alcoholism or sniffing, homelessness, mental illness.
