Program summary

Play Now Act Now is a film, graphic design and writing competition for young people aged 16 to 25 in NSW. 

Play Now Act Now is a health education initiative that invites young people to produce creative resources focussing on issues associated with the usage of alcohol and other drugs eg health, social, political, moral or ethical issues.

There are 3 main competition categories in the 2008 Competition:

• Film/Video
• Creative Writing
• Graphic Design

Key dates

Who can apply?

NSW residents aged 16 - 25 years.

Entry to Play Now Act Now is free.

What will be funded?

Finalists will be selected primarily on content and the artist's ability to convey their story. However creativity, knowledge, insight and an opinion on the topic is also vital. A three-person panel will judge each category. The judging panels included a NSW Health or Department of Education and Training representative, a professional artist and the 2006/07 category winner.
