Understanding Mental Illness

Where: Lecture Theatre, Caritas, 299 Forbes St, Darlinghurst

When: 27 October 2008

A free one day seminar to assist staff from Government and non government organisations in the provision of services to people with menal health problems.

Topics include:

  • Communication skills and strategies
  • Suidice and aggression
  • Outline of the major mental health disorders

In addition to the above, a consumer will talk about living with a mental health disorder and the process of recovery.  Clinicians from the Mental Health Inpatient Unit, Case Management, Rehabilitation and Early Interventions Teams will also provide a description of available services.
