  • Macquarie 2010 Bicentenary Commemorations - 01 January 2010 
    - The 200th anniversary of Lachlan Macquarie's appointment as Governor of New South Wales will be commemorated in 2010 with a statewide celebration program aimed at enriching our knowledge of the past and inspiring our vision for the future. State and local government agencies, community organisations, businesses and individuals are encouraged to be part of history by organising a new activity or theming an existing event ‘Macquarie’ and applying for endorsement.
  • Inspiring Communities - 12 February 2010 
    - Family Advocacy are hosting a workshop which will be of interest to anyone who wants to support a person with developmental disability to be part of a welcoming community. It will be highly relevant for families (including adult brothers, sisters and extended family). There will also be a limited number of places for those who work with people with disability.
  • Motivating Families - 16 February 2010 
    - Frontline workers confront increasingly complex situations where family dynamics and the home environment are affected by factors both internal and external to the family. One of the many challenges for workers is to have on hand many different approaches. This can assist when having conversations with families and when facing resistance or the feeling that nothing is changing.
  • Trade day for Central Coast - 20 February 2010 
    - Local Exchange Trading System (LETS) is a simple non-profit system that allows you to trade services and goods with other local people - without money!
  • Accidental Counsellor - 22 February 2010 
    - This two-day workshop provides non-counsellors with basic skills to assist people dealing with difficult situations or who may be distressed or angry. It introduces a variety of methods, from non-judgmental listening to referral to appropriate agencies. It also explores issues participants may face when helping others.
  • Health, well-being and personal safety of women and elderly - 23 February 2010 
    - This information session will help combat ageist beliefs as it is important to reduce the risk associated with ageism and other societal beliefs that contribute to abuse of older people.
  • FREE training: Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene - 23 February 2010 
  • Frontline skills for complaint handling workshop - NSW Ombudsman - 24 February 2010 
    - As well as developing effective skills and appropriate strategies for complaint handling, participants are given a step by step model for dealing with complaints, examining different types of complainant behaviour and overcoming personal and organisational barriers to making and resolving complaints. Recommended for all community services staff.
  • Raising Concerns With Families About Their Child's Development - 26 February 2010 
    - Learning Links is an Australian charity and non-profit organisation formed to help children who have learning disabilities, difficulties and developmental delays and their families.
  • Basic Counselling - 27 February 2010 
  • Child Centred Therapeutic Play Therapy - 03 March 2010 
    - The training is for anyone who is involved in working with children e.g. child carers, teachers, playgroup workers, case workers, health care workers, etc. The Child Centred Therapeutic approach is broad and offers skills and language that are very helpful for working with children of all ages and backgrounds. The workshop offers a variety of methods to cater for all child based professions.

    - Building a Better Burwood is a community safety resource project inviting members of the Inner West to participate in a photo shoot that will be used to create a picture based safety booklet.

  • Towards Social Inclusion Conference - 20 April 2010 
    - Asocially inclusive Australia is one where all citizens have the opportunities and resources required to learn, gain employment, engage with their communities and have a voice. It is a very different Australia to the one we live in today where approximately five per cent of citizens aged 15 years and over face multiple disadvantages.
