Walgett Community Drug Action Team

The Walgett Community Drug Action Team was established in 2002. The Team meets on the third Monday every month.

What we're doing

The Walgett Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) is auspiced by Walgett Shire Council and supported by the Outback Division of General Practise, the River Towns Project, Department of Sport and Recreation and NSW Police. The Team is strongly supported by the Dharriwa Elders Group.

The CDAT has completed a Photography Project and a Community Roundtable to develop strategies to address alcohol, cannabis and gambling in the community. (link attached document).   Walgett CDAT is committed to working in collaboration and partnership to achieve positive outcomes for the people of Walgett and will focus on:

• Promoting healthy lifestyles
• Raising awareness of the true harms of drug and alcohol misuse in the community
• Engaging young people
• Safety
