Tackle It! Toolkit

Tackle It! - the local game plan on excessive alcohol use

A toolkit for Community Drug Action Teams

CDATs are being supported to reduce alcohol misuse in their communities through the AERF-funded project, Tackle It! The project commenced in early 2008 and has now concluded after the development of the toolkit and related training of more than 230 people in fifteen training sessions across NSW.

The toolkit, Tackle It! – the local game plan on excessive alcohol use is available for use by CDAT members as a PDF. The toolkit uses the action research cycle as the framework for identifying, designing and implementing projects in response to alcohol misuse. Additional information is given on how to build stronger links with local Liquor Accords, the new Liquor Legislation, local promotion and media strategies.

The Population Health & Community Engagement team is working on ways to provide ongoing training in the use of Tackle It! for CDATs. For more information about using Tackle It! in your work, contact your local Project Officer.
