Overview

The Mudgee Community Drug Action team (MDAT) was established 2000. The Team no longer meets.

What we're doing

The Mudgee Drug Action Team was auspiced by Mudgee Shire Council. MDAT operated as a sub-committee of the Mudgee Shire Council and was formed to;

• Establish mechanisms to disseminate information to the local community.
• Provide community information, drug awareness education and public health education in a collaborative approach.
• Identify opportunities for structural approaches to long term risk prevention such as: alternative education and/or training options for young people at risk, employment and job creation opportunities and family support services.
• Identify opportunities to gain improved community support of crime prevention and law enforcement initiatives.
• Facilitate improved access to drug treatment, detoxification, rehabilitation and reintegration programs

MDAT have completed several projects which disseminate information into the Mudgee community. They also completed a   two short videos on communication which can be used by services for young people and parents
