Information and contact details about the Community Drug Action Team and links to projects and activities.
OverviewThe Kyogle Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) was established in August 2000. The Team meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5.00pm. What we're doingConsistent with the principles of the Community Drug Strategies, the Kyogle CDAT is committed to working in partnership with agencies, community representatives and government, to: Encompass prevention, education, treatment and supportive programs that relate to drug and alcohol use within the Kyogle community. These strategies will address individual, family and community needs through a harm minimisation approach while embracing a framework of confidentiality, honesty and compassion to build a strong and healthy community. Since hosting the successful Youth Week Forum in April 2003 titled ‘Teenage Partying’ – What is it to You? The CDAT has focused on identifying alcohol and other drug related issues for young people within the Kyogle region. The partnership between the CDAT and Kyogle Youth Action- Youth Service has been significant in identifying these issues. The CDAT has been instrumental in forging partnerships between various agencies and bringing together community members to reduce the harm caused by risk taking behaviour associated with drug use.
