Family Matters: How to approach drug issues with your family
Family Matters: How to approach drug issues with your family is available through CDATs,community and health centres and libraries across the State.
This booklet provides information about the risks of drug and alcohol abuse, specific drugs (cannabis, ecstasy and amphetamines), tips for talking with your family about drugs and contact details for services offering further information and help. Originally produced in 2002 the booklet was updated in 2005 following consultations with parents and services that work with families. Family Matters is designed to help parents answer questions when talking to their children about drugs. Family Matters is available in English and 15 community languages - Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, Croatian, English, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Macedonian, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Thai (2.1MB), Turkish and Vietnamese. Family Matters will be available from community and health services, Community Drug Action Teams and local libraries. To order these resources complete Community Drug Strategies Resource Order Form To order Family Matters in a community language fill in the order form (available in each language) - Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, Croatian, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Macedonian, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese - and fax to 9424 5757.
