Drug Smart information card
This wallet-size foldout drug and alcohol information card is aimed at young people (14 to 18 years) to dispel myths and provide accurate information on some of the drugs that young people may encounter.
The Drug Smart information card is an initiative of NSW Health and was produced with the assistance of experts in the alcohol and drugs field as well as services that work with and represent young people. Young people also played a key role in the development of the card. The card aims to dispel common myths about some of the drugs that young people may encounter and provides accurate information on drug and alcohol related issues. Contact details for services that give further information or help are included. The card presents real life situations that young people may encounter. And encourages them to think about their behaviour and get help if they need it. The revised Drug Smart information card was launched in 2005. The card was first produced in 2002 and was extremely popular with young people and youth services, filling the gap in information for this age group. Approximately 400,000 of the cards were distributed over 12 months. Drug Smart is part of the Government’s ongoing plan to tackle drug and alcohol abuse through prevention, education, enforcement and treatment. The Drug Smart card is now only available in PDF Format.
