Overview
The Brewarrina Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) was established in 2002.
What we're doing
The Brewarrina CDAT is auspiced by a non government agency. It was created in response to the Community Action Plan to address drug and alcohol issues in the Brewarrina Community. The CDAT aims to meet four key objectives:
- Increase awareness among people living in Brewarrina of the causes and harms of drug and alcohol misuse.
- Increase awareness of available services and places to get information about drug and alcohol issues.
- Expand the range of recreational and leisure activities and/or facilities for young people in Brewarrina.
- Increase co-ordination and co-operation between agencies, service providers and community groups around drug and alcohol issues
The CDAT has focused on drug and alcohol free festivals and promoting drug and alcohol free, family fun days in response to increasing demands for family activities .
