Child Safety on Farms

Safety for children on farms is a major concern which this website addresses by providing farm families, managers, workers and visitors to farms with information and resources to prevent injury to children on farms.

Children can enjoy the good things about living on and visiting farms - at a safe time, in a safe place, and in safe ways. Adults can set the scene to ensure this happens.

Farm injuries can be prevented and farms can be made safer for children by having:

  • A 'safe and secure' house yard for kids to play.
  • Safety rules that everyone on the farm knows and follows
  • A system in place to create a safer farm environment for all.

This website contains:

  • The child safety on farms strategy
  • Research reports and statistics
  • Checklists, fact sheets and solutions
  • Case studies from farms
  • Activities for kids
  • Educational resources
