How young people would like to be consultedA Department of Local Government report on findings from interviews with young people. Young people are open to a variety of consultation methods but are most likely to respond to a small group face-to-face situation. They are looking for a sense of trust in the consultation process, as well as a serious commitment from councils to listen to their views, and to respect and value their views. They want to be consulted about youth issues, but are also interested in other issues including council's policies and management plans. Follow this link to download the report from the Department of Local Government website (PDF) Further resources on consulting with and involving children and young people can be found on the NSW Commission for Children and Young People website.Follow this link to the NSW Commission for Children and Young People website for the Participation Kit (opens in a new browser window)
