ruMAD?

ruMAD? (Are You Making a Difference?) is a values-focused, student-led, and inquiry-based curriculum framework that encourages students to make a difference! Through ruMAD? students are immersed in a unique program of social change and innovative learning, where activities and projects are based upon student identified values and interests which motivate them to enact change within their school and community.

The ruMAD? Program will continue to inspire and challenge students in schools across Australia throughout 2007 as it continues to grow as an innovative movement in student centred inquiry-based learning. The most exciting development is that ruMAD? will soon become an entirely interactive entity. The development of the new website is underway and will soon be an amazing portal for schools, teachers and communities alike to celebrate their MADness!

In 2007 we are encouraging all schools across the country to celebrate making a difference! The ‘National’ MAD Day is being decentralised to allow schools to choose their own day and to free up diverse communities to come together and choose a day that best suits them. This will be done through the new website where registered schools will have the opportunity to upload their projects to the site after hosting their own MAD Day, so that everyone across the country can share in the celebration.

Why not join another school or a cluster of schools and come together on the same day to share your ideas about making a difference? We might even invite a number of schools to host a MAD Day online through a MySpace portal that can be viewed on the website? However it happens and whatever it looks like, it’s definitely going to be MAD!
