The Active Living ProgramThe Active Living Program is designed to cater for the needs of people with an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury.
The program is run by LeapFrog Ability and teaches people with an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury about:
Participants learn how to exercise safely in the privacy of LeapFrog's exercise studio. Fully qualified Fitness Trainers work with participants to ensure your exercise session is fun, safe and effective. HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN? LeapFrog ability assist people who have an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury. Therefore, eligibility criteria to join the Active Living Program is as follows: The person must have an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury. The person must be 16 years or older The person must obtain medical clearance and have their doctor complete a Pre Exercise Assessment and Referral Form prior to commencing the program
REFERRALS FROM DISABILITY SERVICES, MEDICAL AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS: Leapfrog welcomes referrals from the above service providers. Please fill out the appropriate form (see below) with your client/patient and send it back to us. We will then be in contact with you to arrange a time to meet with your client/patient. BENEFITS FROM PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM: Since the program started in February 2004, there have been many success stories, not to mention a combined total of over 140kg shed by participants on the program.
