Making Dollars and Sense out of Community Events - A Resource KitThe Resource kit provides practical tools and tips to help businesses and events organisers work together to maximise the economic advantage of community events.
This very practical resource kit is an initiative of the Lake Macquarie City Council and the NSW Department of State and Regional Development. Its aim is to help businesses and events organisers work together to maximise the economic advantage of local events. While the kit is aimed at businesses, it is very useful for any group planning an event. A survey carried out to ascertain the success of the Festival of Lake Macquarie, 2001, found that the business potential of local events was not being realised and could increased if working with business was seen as an integral part of event planning. The resulting resource kit is applicable to events in any community. The kit contains the following sections:
The kit contains tools, guides, samples, case studies, checklists, tips and hints. The Risk Management section contains the WorkCover NSW "Risk Management at Work" Guide. Download the resource kit (PDF 1.6mb - opens in a new browser window)
