Australian Employee Ownership AssociationThe AEOA represents a broad spectrum of interests in employee share ownership and is committed to bipartisanship in its dealings with governments and political parties.
The AEOA was founded in 1986 to promote employee ownership (or co-ownership) of the businesses where they work. For much of its early life the Association was chiefly educational in its focus. However, in more recent times, the AEOA has become politically active. The AEOA's objectives are set out in the Association's major policy document "Future Directions in Employee Ownership Policy". Apart from specific proposals for change, Future Directions advocates a carefully formulated, strategically conceived policy on ESOPs designed to guide future legislative development in the field. The focus of this policy is upon spreading employee ownership to, and throughout, the unlisted company sector while making ESOPs more flexible for listed companies and their employees.
