Neighbourhood RenewalNeighbourhood Renewal is a long-term commitment by the Victorian State Government to narrow the gap between disadvantaged communities and the rest of the State.
It is a new approach that brings together the resources and ideas of residents, governments, businesses and community groups to tackle disadvantage in areas with concentrations of public housing. Neighbourhood Renewal is creating vibrant places where people want to live.
In 2007 Neighbourhood Renewal launched a publication outlining its achievements in lifting employment, learning and local economic activity across the State. Neighbourhood Renewal: Learning and working together emphasises the importance of operating in partnership to improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged communities across Victoria. It includes inspirational stories of real Victorians who are taking advantage of new opportunities and transforming their neighbourhoods.
